“The Cycles Of Attraction”

you know why we keep loving
the same types of people?
or, why we even get attracted
to specific qualities, we see?
or, even why we seem
to become a magnet
for particular social groups?
it’s because we, unconsciously,
tell the world what we seek.
it’s like, we go out
and we look a certain way;
or do certain actions;
or say several things
that indicate what we desire.
then, there are those
who are in search of us–
and we draw them to us.
so, this cycle happens
over and over again,
until we change our wish;
and, a different cycle begins.

“Grief”

grief doesn’t always involve tears.
it can be a haunting silence
that pervades the very air.
it can also be the extra octave,
subtly present in boisterous laughter.
it can also be the slow languid walk,
masked as a gentle glide.
sadness, loneliness, melancholy:
whatever term we call it,
can be anywhere–
faking itself as its opposite.
the sole evidence, of its presence,
are the extra things we don’t perceive.

“Waiting For People”

You wait for the wrong people
for hours and hours,
You put your trust in the wrong people,
You tell them too much about yourself,
thinking they’ll understand,
You sleep too late and wake up too early,
You do a lot and get not even a part of it,
You sleep thinking of them
and wake up dreaming about them,
Before opening both your eyes properly,
you check on them,
You think, you dream and
you get obsessed with them,
They won’t understand the kind
of love you can give,
You are too deep and their heart is so little,
So little that they can’t feel
the sacrifices you do for them,
So little that they can’t feel even a part
of your feelings,
They ain’t worth it.

“Two Sets Of People”

Show Text

there are only two sets
of people in this world:

one, the selfish; and
two, the selfless.

the selfish do things for himself.
his priority is himself.
he can be anything,
in order to achieve what he wants.
if what he does helps others, too;
then, that’s merely a plus.

the selfless do things for others.
his priority is the other.
if what he does helps him, also;
then, that is only a bonus.
